Tenure Track Faculty Positions in Transportation Engineering/ Science

The Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology invites applications for tenure track positions in transportation engineering, with an expected start date of October 2023. The Technion is committed to excellence in interdisciplinary research and teaching aimed at providing the knowledge base, innovation and human capital needed to shape an efficient, safe, and sustainable transportation system to support economic growth and quality of life of the citizens.

Duties

The Faculty is looking for excellent candidates with expertise in transportation system analysis. Areas of interest include, but not limited to, the following:
• Development and application in the broad area of data intensive multi-modal transportation system analysis and performance.
• Large-scale transportation network modeling / optimization / management, including public transportation systems and non-motorized modes.
• Data-driven solutions to transportation behavior analysis and decision making, including transportation-land use-environment interactions, transportation safety and security.

Requirements:

The position is open to all academic levels (senior lecturer, associate professor and full professor). Applicants should hold a doctoral degree and have a demonstrated leadership and commitment to research and teaching in the academic environment.
The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the development of the research and teaching program in transportation engineering, including conducting research independently and in collaboration, achieving research grants, supervising graduate students, and teaching postgraduate and undergraduate courses in her or his field of interest and to contribute to the teaching of other courses at the undergraduate level.
